Parents/ Teachers Effectiveness Training Centres

The paramount need of effectiveness training being imparted periodically to both parents and teachers for better utilization of their skills, resources and prerogative powers in the development of children into confident and competent human beings is very strongly felt at various levels. The respective roles played by these two categories during the formative years of growth of children are critical. Lack of skills needed to perform well weakens the development process and consequently costs the Society valuable members on various spheres of social life.

Parents do need to know more about effective parenting. (The survey conducted by CASS, seeking the comments of over 20,000 parents during our PET sessions at various venues strongly subscribe to this view). They have to acquire specific skills and usable methods, rather than acting according to the vague abstractions, such as ‘ be firm but fair’, ‘understand your child’, ‘ don’t be too strict and don’t be too permissive’ and the like. Teachers also need to be taught skills needed for more effective communication with students, new methods of discipline that are not based upon their destructive power and authority, and practical methods for setting class room rules, conducting productive group discussions, building youngsters’ self esteem and self responsibility. CASS is conducting awareness programmes, classes, training courses, seminars, workshops at school/district levels to groom competent parents and teachers to develop the skills needed. A survey conducted by CASS at parents/teachers levels reveals that the educational programmes we propose would have very great acceptance as well as institutional support and patronage.
