The objects of the Society are:- |
- To establish and run model educational and training institutions in India and elsewhere in the world either independently or in association with private, public and or voluntary organizations.
- To pursue and promote higher education and research in the country or elsewhere in the world either independently or in co-operation with other educational, scientific and voluntary organizations or institutions.
- To conduct either independently or in association with other organizations, educational programmes; such as seminars, talks, lectures, workshops, etc., using veterans to disseminate their rich knowledge and experience on various subjects for the benefit of students, teachers, parents, and the public.
- To achieve such objectives of education as moral, intellectual and cultural upliftment, high standards of discipline, self-reliance, service mentality and above all human brotherhood in social life of people.
- To organize activities to promote cultural, literary, scientific and artistic talents inherent in people.
- To encourage leadership qualities of young people with stress on honest behaviour, mutual understanding, cooperation and integrity.
- To give maximum encouragement for development of the potential of people in all spears of intellectual and cultural pursuits.
- To engage in printing and publishing journals, periodicals and or books conducive to achieving the above mentioned objects.
- To establish alliance with private, public or voluntary organizations or institutions for promoting the interests and achieving the objectives of the Society and to seek patronage of persons and or organizations for the above purpose.
- To become a member of or otherwise co-operate with any other society, institution or organization whose objects are altogether or in part similar to those of this Society.
- To provide means for promotion and advancement of the above mentioned and similar objects.
- To manage and administer any old age home or homes for the benefit of aged people.
- To affiliate and manage institutions having objects similar to those mentioned above.
- To engage in any other charitable, educational and or literary activity or activities as may be decided by the Governing Body of the Society from time to time.
- To acquire by purchase, take on lease, hire or by gift or otherwise and hold any movable or movables and also any immovable property or properties or any rights or privileges that may be deemed necessary or useful for the advancement of the objects of the Society or any of them.
- To construct, maintain, extend, alter, repair, or improve any building and premises that may be acquired by the Society.
- To receive and collect any gifts, subscriptions and donations either in cash or in kind, or acquire by any other lawful means and spend the same in fulfillment of all or any of the objects of the Society.
- To enter into any lawful contract or contracts and to execute such conveyance or conveyances as may be necessary or required.
- To do all or any of the above objects through trustees, agents or otherwise, and either alone, or in conjunction with others.
- Generally to do all such things as are incidental and conducive to the attainment of the objects or any one of them.
- The Centre shall mean " Centre for Advanced Studies and Services".
- The Governing Body shall mean the Governing Body of the Centre for the time being.
- The Membership of the Centre shall for the present consist of:
- Founder Members
- Life Members; and
- Associate Members
- a) All persons who have subscribed their names to the Memorandum of Association of the Centre shall be its Founder Members, b) Those who are unanimously invited by the Governing Body to become its Life Members shall, if such invitation is accepted in writing, become the Life Members of the Society, c) The Governing Body may invite from time to time persons who associate themselves closely and actively with the work of the Centre to become members of the Centre. Such persons, on accepting in writing the invitation of the Governing Body, become Associate Members of the Centre.
- Termination of Membership: A person once accepted as a member of the Centre under any category shall continue to be so until his membership is terminated by death or resignation or removal of his membership by the Governing Body to safeguard the interests of the Centre. In case termination of membership is made for safeguarding the interests of the Centre, the Governing Body shall before such termination, give an opportunity to the concerned to explain his conduct. Provided that in the case of termination of a Founder Member to safeguard as is required by the Rules to be transacted at the Annual General Meeting.
- The Governing Body shall meet once in every four months and oftener if necessary.
- In the absence of the Chairman in a meeting, another member of the Governing Body nominated by the Chairman shall be in the Chair.
- The meetings of the members may be called by a notice of fourteen days.
- The meetings of the Governing Body may be called by a clear notice of seven days.
- The service of the notice may be ordinarily by post with certificate of posting or in such other manner as may be decided from time to time.
- One third of the members of the Centre shall form a quorum for a meeting of the members of the Centre, whether ordinary or annual.
- Three members of the Governing Body shall form a quorum for a meeting of the Governing Body.
- A meeting may be adjourned for half an hour for lack of quorum. It shall not be necessary to give notice to all members who are absent, of any such adjournment. Business conducted in such a meeting shall be valid.
In case of emergency the Chairman can direct the Secretary to circulate any proposal for the opinion of the members, giving a week's time for the receipt of opinion from the date of dispatch of the proposal. If there is no dissent, the proposals shall be deemed to have been passed, provided at least one third of the members of the Centre or Governing Body, as the case may be, have voted in writing for the proposal. All decisions taken by circular should be forthwith reported in writing to all the members of the Centre or Governing Body, as the case may be, and shall be placed before the following meeting of the members of the Centre or of the Governing Body, as the case may be. All questions put to vote at a meeting shall be decided, unless otherwise provided for, by a simple majority, the Chairman, or the person nominated by the Chairman to be in the Chair, having the right of a casting vote.

Traveling Expenses: |
- Members of the Governing Body traveling in connection with meetings or other works required of them in connection with the Centre, shall be entitled, subject to the regulation hereinafter following, to receive actual traveling, conveyance, transport, boarding and lodging expenses. The traveling expenses shall not however, exceed a first class railway fare with sleeping accommodation in case of journeys between stations connected with rail, provided that it would be open to the Chairman of the Governing Body to sanction higher fare or air fare for valid reasons to be recorded in writing by the Chairman. The boarding and lodging expenses shall not exceed Rs.750- per day, provided that it would be open to the Chairman of the Governing Body to sanction higher boarding and lodging expenses.
- The traveling expenses so payable shall be paid by the Secretary on presentation to him of a bill thereof, duly signed and verified by the person entitled to receive the same under the foregoing regulations.
- The Secretary shall have the power to appoint staff for the effective functioning of the Centre and institutions managed by it. Before such appointments he shall obtain the approval of the Chairman for such appointments.
- "Staff' means the salaried employees of the Centre and the institutions managed by it.
- The Governing Body shall lay down Rules and Service conditions of the staff of the Centre and the institutions managed by the Centre.
- Any number not less than three fifth of the members of the Centre may determine that it shall be dissolved and thereupon it shall be dissolved forthwith or at any time then agreed upon and all necessary steps shall be taken for the disposal and settlement of the property of the Centre, its claims and liabilities, according as the members shall find expedient, provided that, in the event of any dispute arising among the members of the Centre, the adjustment of its affairs shall be referred to the principal court of the original civil jurisdiction of the district in which the Head Office of the Centre is situated and the court shall make such order in the matter as it shall deem requite.
- Assent required: Provided that the Centre shall not be dissolved unless three fifth of its members shall have expressed a wish for such dissolution by their votes delivered in person at a general meeting convened for the purpose.
- If, upon the dissolution of the Centre, there shall remain after the satisfaction of all its debts and liabilities any property, whatsoever, the same shall not be paid or distributed among the members of the Centre or any of them but shall be given to some other society or societies which has or have for its objects, furtherance of aims similar, or near as may be, to the objects of the Centre.

Suits by and against the Centre:
The Centre may sue or be sued by the name of the Chairman or Secretary or members of the Governing Body, as shall be determined by the Governing Body.

All the provisions of the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955 (Act XU of 1955) will apply to the Centre. |

Bank Account:
Bank account or accounts in the name of the Centre may be opened at such bank or banks as may be decided by the Governing Body from time to time and such account or accounts shall be opened and operated upon jointly by the Secretary and Treasurer or by any other two persons authorized in this regard by the Governing Body.
